Merchant Terms
Draft, not in force. This is a working draft for legal review by Tanzanian counsel. It does not create any binding obligations until a reviewed version is published with an effective date.
1. Who we are
VoxoPay is a payment technology platform operated by VoxoPay ("VoxoPay", "we"). VoxoPay provides software that lets businesses ("merchants") create and manage payments through licensed payment service providers ("providers").
2. Our role
- VoxoPay provides technology services: APIs, hosted checkout, payment links, routing, verification, notifications and reporting.
- VoxoPay does not receive, hold, pool, transfer or settle funds belonging to merchants or their customers. Providers collect payments and settle them to merchants under the providers' own terms and licences.
- Merchants must hold an account with each provider they connect and accept that provider's terms, including its KYC, fee and settlement terms.
3. Eligibility and verification
Merchants must be lawfully established businesses or individuals, must provide accurate information, and must complete VoxoPay's business verification before using live mode. We may decline, suspend or close accounts as described in these Terms and our Acceptable Use Policy.
4. Fees
VoxoPay technology fees are shown in the dashboard and invoiced separately from provider fees, unless a provider's approved arrangement says otherwise.
5. Merchant responsibilities
- Keep API keys and webhook secrets confidential, and fulfil orders only after verified payment confirmation.
- Comply with applicable law, including consumer protection, data protection and AML/CFT obligations.
- Give customers clear information about what they are buying, refunds and how to contact the merchant.
6. Remaining sections
Data protection, liability, indemnities, service levels, suspension, termination, dispute resolution and governing law (United Republic of Tanzania) will be added after legal review.
